Radiantly You Review & Giveaway!

We have a pretty firm policy at our house: If you can’t eat it, you should not be putting it on your body. More and more families are adopting this policy, too. This goes double for mommas while they are pregnant & lactating and also for babies & kids, who cannot afford to waste energy or resources compensating for toxins when they need to be growing brains and bodies. That is why I cannot say enough good things about the products from Radiantly You. Melissa has focused her passion for transforming lives into this ever expanding line of beauty, health and cleaning products. I was lucky enough to try out four of the fantastic body care products:

Calendula Baby Butt Balm - GMO & Petroleum Free

Homemade Soap - Organic Sweet Orange Vanilla with Orange Peel

Whipped Body Butter - Mango Coconut

Vanilla Coconut Lip Balm

Luxurious is the very first word that came to mind. Opening up the package was a sensory experience in itself. Delicious scents that are not made of scary frankenchemicals! Beautifully packaged and presented! These items are not simply for pampering yourself, they are exactly the kind of gift that others would LOVE to get (nudge wink wink to all of you looking for a lovely Valentine’s Day gift this month!) I’m all for luxury, but more than that, I am all about quality. And these products deliver both.

With forced-air heat this winter, we have all had our share of chapped lips and dry skin in our house. The baby (now 7 months old) especially has been struggling with dry skin issues. It felt wonderful to know that I could use ANY of these products on his skin without worry! Right away we busted out the Calendula Baby Butt Balm and by the end of the day his chapped bottom and thighs were soft as…well, as a baby’s bottom! We also all used some of the Lip Balm several times throughout the day and loved the light scent and the wonderfully smooth application. It also looks great over a lip stain as a gloss! Before bed, all of the kids were treated to some of the Homemade Soap during their bath. Even the kids, who normally don’t care what sort of soap we are using on them, commented on the rich, foamy lather and the amazing smell. Post-bath massages with the Whipped Body Butter proved to be a lovely experience for them AND for my dry hands! After everyone was tucked in, I treated myself to the same (well, not the tushy balm ;) ) and was not disappointed! The biggest endorsement though? Sir Hubby loves each of these products, too! These truly are products that the entire family can use.

More than anything. Melissa and I want YOU and YOUR family to feel as radiant and healthy as you deserve to feel! Use this Rafflecoptor link to enter to win ANY PRODUCT from the Radiantly You Etsy store. Contest runs for one week from February 1, 2013 until midnight on February 8, 2013. Favorite tip for toxins? Replacing all of our plastic tupperware with glass, and of course changing our bathing habits (ask me 3 years ago if i would use baking soda for shampoo and apple cider for conditioner or if i would dump a beer on my head for the nutrients because we don’t consume things with gluten. i would probably look at you like you were crazy)

  3. Dana Warner says:

We make our own cleaning chemicals, laundry soap and mouthwash. I like these homemade items much more than commercial!

I actually just ordered the tooth paste & shampoo bar from the etsy shop & can not wait to try those!

Getting rid of plastic has been huge at our house, as well as any toxic cleaners. I make vinegar palatable by soaking citrus rinds in it, a la Pinterest, and it has been lovely! Also, using herbal remedies – like using our first aid salve that has comfrey, calendula, tea tree oil and lavender rather than Neosporin for cuts.

I am having such issues with no ‘poo, though – was doing about a once-every-two-weeks baking soda wash and ACV rinse since last March. My wavy hair wasn’t ever greasy, but breaking so much it looked like it had been razor cut and was just a huge pile of split ends, even when super diluting the baking soda in water, pre-oiling with coconut oil, using jojoba oil as a leave in, using my own tears as a conditioner, praying to the hair gods, etc. Now I’m back to using Desert Essence shampoo & conditioner about once a week, but I hate it :(. If anyone has any ideas for how to make no ‘poo work, I’m all ears! Is there a good no ‘poo detangler that someone has come up with?

I’m just trying to use more natural cleaning products (making my own laundry soap and dishwasher detergent, using baking soda, vinegar and citrus for everyday cleaning…sometimes just plain water if I can get away with it!) I like the idea of using all glass containers instead of plastic, too.

I keep toxins outside of my home by making my own cleaning products. Alice’s Wonderspray: distilled H2O, borax, Dr. Bronner’s Castile Soap, vinegar essential oils. I purchaseMrs. Meyer’s Clean Day products and I plan to make a bleach alternative. I can also purchase more products to clean home from Radiantly You! No more foreign chemicals that are harmful to our cats, ourselves and the environment.

I am currently working on getting everyone in the family to eat better then I’m gonna start eliminating toxins from the house via plastics, cleaning products, etc. I’m a lucky girl in that my husband doesn’t think I’m crazy or silly for taking away things like commercial cleaning products, beauty products, etc. he’s very supportive :)
